Thermosolar power plants: HTF pipes requiremens and supporting considerations

Rodríguez Fernández, Ángel

Most of the types of Thermosolar power plants use a Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) to transfer the solar thermal energy to a steam generator. The produced steam will be used directly in a steam turbine to produce electricity or used to increase the performance of a thermal power plant. The pipes and the supports must be designed taking into account the characteristics of this fluid and the way a thermosolar power plant works. The presentation shows the considerations that must be followed when pipes filled with HTF are designed, stress analyzed and supported.
