Rotating Machinery Manager at Repsol
His group is responsible for the specification, selection testing, installation, commissioning and start-up of all the rotating equipment for REPSOL investment projects in refineries, chemical and gas plants, pipelines and upstream production facilities. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting rotating machinery, the promotion of new technologies throughout the company, reliability engineering, and writing company machinery standards. Prior to joining REPSOL in 1998, Mr Fernández worked for 6 years at FLUOR as a rotating machinery engineer in several projects for DuPont, ICI and UCC. Mr. Fernández holds a M.S. degree (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Oviedo, Spain. He is a member of the API Sub-committee of Mechanical Equipment, and Chairman of the ISO TC118 SC1 (Process compressors); he is past-member of the Advisory Committee for the Pump Symposium organized by the Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. He is a member of Spanish technical committees for machinery and ATEX (hazardous areas) for non-electrical equipment.
