Introduction to thermosolar power plants and piping design issues

Oil crisis in the late 70s forced to investigate and develop new renewable technologies, between them the thermosolar power plants were developed. In the late 90s several companies started to investigate again with that technology and in the first decade of this century, this technology has been developed and a great number of this plants has been built and a lot of other projects along the world are actually being built. At this moment there are 4940MW of concentrated solar power plants installed in the world. The presentation shows the different types of thermosolar power plants, how they work, the fluids that are used in those plants, and how it affects to the design of the pipes.
