Currently a High Voltage Electrical systems Trainer with Eon (5 years), based at a large power station in Nottingham. Engineers are trained from all over the UK and World on all aspects of working on HV systems. Apprentices and Graduates are trained on basic electrical theory (generation, transformers, motors etc).
Worked for 20 years in the coal mining industry as an Apprentice Electrician, an Electrician and a Shift Charge Engineer. The equipment there included extensive HV underground network, large transformers, motors and machinery.
Technician in a Hospital (6 years), looking after all of the electrical and mechanical systems.
Last role (12 years) was as a Shift Engineer at a large Pharmaceutical R&D plant (AstraZeneca). Equipment included very complicated HV systems, generators and process plant LV systems. Had to understand and fault find on a vast range of equipment including Chillers, ATEX equipment, sterilizers, steam systems, heat transfer fluid systems etc. etc.
Currently Keith is retired.
