The presentation starts with a definition of the pressure ranges when talking about Vacuum Pumps and Compressors. A description of the working principle and the resulting details and limits when operating liquid ring machines follows. Especially the function and different ways to guide the service liquid flow are explained. In the second part the typical applications of Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps and Compressors in the Petrochemical and Refinery Processes are shown and explained. As often temperatures in the process need to be kept in certain limits, desired distillation and condensation effects to separate or recover gases or vapours need to be realized by decreased or increased pressure
