Impellers arrangement analysis and related design impacts on double stage centrifugal fan for Oil & Gas applications.

In recent Oil & Gas mega projects we experienced increasing requests for centrifugal fans operating in severe duty conditions with constraints related to limited installation areas, being the plant layouts already decided and frozen at project early stage. Therefore, the selection of the most adequate rotating machine became more and more sensitive in order to fulfil both customers and projects specifications. Combining best aeraulic efficiency and compact design proved to be one of the winning key points for OEM Companies. Historical case presented will show the success of the above scenario on double stage API centrifugal fans.
